More than 900 students from Lwandayi Ward in Sirisia Constituency, Bungoma County, have been issued birth certificates in an exercise facilitated by the office of the Bungoma West Deputy Commissioner and the local MP.
Speaking during the event, Bungoma West Deputy Commissioner Abdi Muhamud noted that residents have long had to travel long distances to acquire these crucial documents. He emphasized that the certificates will significantly help families during school bursary allocation processes.
The Deputy Commissioner also urged residents to enroll in the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) to access affordable healthcare services, underscoring the importance of health coverage in improving community welfare.
Excited parents expressed their gratitude, highlighting the convenience and relief brought by receiving the certificates locally. The initiative marks a positive step towards easing access to essential services for the Lwandayi community.
