Lugulu Ward Representative Josphat Wandera Issues Warning to Youths Involved in Crime in Butula

Josphat Wandera, the Lugulu Ward Representative in Butula, has issued a stern warning to the youth involved in criminal activities in the area. Speaking at Sikura Primary School, Wandera, who is also the Majority Leader in the Busia County Assembly, expressed his deep concern over the rising involvement of young people in crimes, particularly in drug abuse and violence.

Wandera emphasized that any youths arrested for criminal activities will face strong action from security officers. He pointed out that many of these young offenders are involved in drug abuse, contributing to the deterioration of community safety.

His statement was supported by Kimtai Nen, the Deputy Commissioner of Butula Sub-County, who highlighted that events such as discos have exacerbated the situation, attracting youths and increasing criminal behavior in the area.

Both leaders called for stronger measures to address the issues, with Wandera urging the community and law enforcement to work together to safeguard the area and protect the youth from falling deeper into criminal behavior.
